Lower School Closing 2017
Tradition calls for Lower School Closing to take place at Christ Church, where the end of the school year is celebrated in song, dance and parting remarks. This year’s event took place on June 9, a beautiful sunny day for the boys’ stroll to and from Browning. Head of Lower School/Assistant Head Laurie Gruhn welcomed the community and congratulated the boys on their accomplishments throughout their Lower School years.
During the course of the program, the fourth grade boys recounted their favorite memories of Lower School as they stood bravely at the podium and thanked their teachers, parents and families for contributing to their success.
Under the direction of Music Department Chair Lucy Warner, the boys raised their voices in song, played a variety of instruments as accompaniment, and even entertained with a dance number that spilled into the aisles.
Head of School John Botti was pleased to stand before the Lower School students for his first such closing and offered personal congratulations for a job well done. Mr. Botti thanked teachers and families for supporting their sons over the past year, and wished all in attendance a happy summer. Congratulation, Lower School boys!
