2019 Varsity Tennis
Our boys repeated as undefeated NYCAL league season champions. We had a deep team again this year, with solid play all the way through #2 doubles. Our singles “terrible trio” of Oliver “Cool Ranch” Obeid, Ian “TBD” Schunk, and Nico “Grand Master Pi” Laffont devastated opponents, and our doubles players worked hard at improving their net game and court coverage, learning each other’s styles, and making adjustments together during a match. Nick “The Snoozer” Hurley and Sharif “Reef” Nsouli spent four days playing together at Florida spring training, and it showed right away at the beginning of the season. I enjoyed the input, support and camaraderie of coaching with John Stoler and would like to thank “The Manager” Keaton “aka Will Shortz” Ramey for being with us this season. Get your Grrrr on!
